MGT-383-V: Emergency Operations Plans for Rural Jurisdictions

Course Description

This 8-hour planning and management-level course, is delivered in two 4-hour Zoom sessions, and is designed to provide rural first responders with the knowledge and skills to develop an emergency operations plan (EOP) for their local jurisdiction or region. Participants are provided with knowledge on the planning process, the different types of emergency operations plan formats, and the components of each. Participants engage in scenarios that are designed to reinforce the lessons learned and to enable them to determine the best format for their particular jurisdiction and to organize the various planning components into an EOP. Course Prerequisites

*Participant must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign national approved by DHS. Recommended (not required): IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS), IS-235: Emergency Planning, IS-453: Introduction to Homeland Security Planning, IS-700: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS), IS-800: The National Response Framework (NRF), and IS-2900: National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF)
