National Training Needs Assessment 2014-2015
Rural communities throughout the United States continue to face persistent and ever-changing threats and hazards. A full understanding of the rural threat and hazard picture is needed by training providers in order to develop and subsequently deliver needed training that aims to build rural community resiliency and response capabilities. To achieve this understanding, the Justice and Safety Center at Eastern Kentucky University, on behalf of the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium, routinely conducts a National Rural Training Needs Assessment, which assesses the training experiences, needs, barriers, and preferences of rural first responders.
