Tim Maloney

Mr. Tim Maloney is an instructor with The University of Findlay, an academic partner of the RDPC.

Mr. Maloney is a 39 year professional in law enforcement, veteran of the armed forces and a subject matter expert in the areas of crisis management, investigative techniques and psychometric testing and evaluation. Mr. Maloney’s career has spanned more than three decades of county, federal and academic employment associated with teaching and practical implementation of law enforcement principles.

During his tenure with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Mr. Maloney was a certified police instructor; a crisis/hostage negotiator; a designated member of the Critical Incident Negotiation Team (CINT); a testing administrator/evaluator for the FBI undercover program for operatives throughout the United States and abroad; a peer counselor and representative for the FBI Employee Assistance Program (EAP); a counselor for children whose parent(s) were killed in the line of duty; a Fugitive Task Force coordinator ; intelligence operations specialist; a counselor for the FBI National Academy; and a crisis management instructor for local law enforcement in Pennsylvania.

At the onset of his law enforcement career, Mr. Maloney served as a county probation officer for four years and a prison counselor for six years, with the responsibility to develop treatment plans and act as liaison with the court system.

Following his retirement from the FBI in May 2002, Mr. Maloney served as a county detective for the district attorney in Erie, PA; a consultant for Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa; and associate director of the Public Safety Institute at Mercyhurst College.

Mr. Maloney has worked for a WDC consulting firm for the past three years as an evaluator/vulnerability assessor for the Department of the Treasury and is an adjunct instructor for the All Hazards Training Center at the University of Findlay.
