Glenda Adkisson

Ms. Glenda Adkisson is a master instructor with NorthWest Arkansas Community College, an academic partner of the RDPC.

Currently a project leader and consultant for Business Resiliency Planning and Workplace Health & Wellness, Ms. Adkisson has more than twenty years of experience in disaster response services and healthcare. She has worked in the public and private sector, including non-profit and industrial manufacturing environments.

Ms. Adkisson served as executive director of the American Red Cross, Paducah Area Chapter, with responsibility for all Red Cross disaster-response operations within the Chapter’s three-county jurisdiction. Certifications and special training include the Disaster Services Program Management and Business Continuity Institute, Professional Continuity Planning.

Ms. Adkisson has a bachelor of science degree in organizational management and development and a nursing license. She has also worked with local emergency management and health department personnel in disaster planning for functional and special-needs populations. Ms. Adkisson currently serves on the National Weather Service’s Severe Weather-Preparedness Committee, and the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
