2023 National Tribal and Rural Training Needs Assessment

The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) is constantly looking at how we can best support our emergency response constituency across the nation. In 2023, The RDPC contracted with Jacksonville State University (JSU) to update the National Tribal & Rural Training Needs Assessment. The purpose of the updated survey was to identify new or existing training needs/gaps in tribal and rural first responder communities. Areas surveyed include but are not limited to demographics, core capability ratings, training needs and gaps, delivery preferences, equity, and the practical application of training. It is our pleasure to share this Needs Assessment with you and it is our hope that through analyzing and sharing the results of this survey that the rural and tribal first responder communities’ training needs can be better understood and served.
